Each 8-week unit is subdivided into 3 modules of two weeks each, plus two weeks for reflection.

Our purpose is for you to:
Your interest in reading thus far shows you are ready to embark on this journey with us. We’re excited about the possibilities for cross-pollination that can occur across fields, work or community environments, and life perspectives.
You will gain sustainable skills for leading change. Many leaders and advocates have only experienced leadership by people whose tactics and approaches they deplore. Our team at Leading Consciously is steeped in the technology of change and will help you learn how to change hearts and minds. What we share with you is sustainable. At the end of a complete unit of the program, you will be better able to
This program is for people who want to reduce racism and promote social justice wherever they are. It doesn’t matter to us whether you start off with the malware known as racism instilled in you from childhood that you now seek to eliminate, or if you are among the few gifted with an upbringing where racism wasn’t churning away in the background. What matters is your desire to learn and to improve social justice and opportunities in the society in which you live, work, and love.
See our response to question #5. If you want to promote antiracism, foster social justice, and take on a greater leadership role in the environment in which you live, work, and love, this program could benefit you.
Once per module (every two weeks) we will select a blog post for you to read. It will feature at least one skill that we think is critical for members to learn and practice. The selected skills will enhance your ability to engage in social justice work. You will be asked to post your reflections about it online, respond to the reflections of others, and complete a practice exercise within that two-week module.
During that two-week period, you will participate in a guided discussion where you can bring reflections and questions. This forum provides you a chance to ask for and receive support from other members. Periodically, we will spotlight a member who has a complicated issue or has had a particular success.
You will learn by reflecting and doing, while we are with you every step of the way.
Some modules use videos and others use written blog posts as the discussion material. For those who don’t like to read or have trouble reading, we offer a text to audio option.
We know you’re busy. That’s why we designed the program so you would spend only about three hours every two weeks. We allow plenty of soak time in between units so that you may deepen your confidence and skills development over time.
The net result is a rewarding experience.
Ideally, your manager will want to buy in for a whole work group. That way, people can support one another and foster the type of inclusive work environment they all yearn for.
Your manager will want to know if the investment will yield benefits back to the organization. We suggest asking them to look at our anniversary issue of the blog in which members of Pathfinders describe their experiences.
If they still have questions, ask them to contact us directly.
If your manager is not interested, then certainly find out if you can get sponsorship for your participation from your organization. They will benefit from your skills development, so the justification for their support is there. If you don’t get that support, then the question is whether you want to invest in yourself. We hope you do.
If they still have questions, ask them to contact us directly.
Groups of three or more will be eligible for a reduced price. Organizations and teams should ask for a quote.
We have deliberately kept the fees reduced so that individuals can participate. If the fee is prohibitive for your community, please contact us to discuss.
We do have a limited scholarship program. Please contact us to discuss your unique situation. We may be able to offer membership to you in exchange for your volunteering to help us with a myriad of tasks.
Above all, we are looking for you to say that you feel better prepared to lead in multicultural settings.
As researchers, we will periodically assess your progress. We will ask you questions about the progress you made, the accomplishments you celebrate, the transformation you have experienced.
We also want you to tell us how we are doing. Feedback is essential to us. We will ask you to assess various aspects of the program, tell us what we are doing well and what we need to improve.
In Pathfinders, you will learn how to handle the inevitable self-doubt and what to do when people question your commitment or your actions. You will develop skills on how to handle it when one of your team members accuses another of microaggressions, or what to do when a culturally different team member seems to be set apart from the others.
We’ve created a course that makes it satisfying for you to learn how to produce favorable outcomes. We’ve spent years uncovering the science of why people form into tribes and what it takes to bring them together.
